Federica guidi mini stroke
A transient ischemic attack (TIA), or mini-stroke, is a temporary blockage of blood flow to the brain, usually caused by a blood clot or fatty deposits. Unlike full strokes, mini-strokes typically do not cause permanent brain damage or long-term effects, and recovery is often spontaneous.
However, they are considered a warning sign of an impending full stroke, with 1 in 5 patients experiencing a true stroke within a year of a TIA. While mini-strokes themselves are not life-threatening, they should be treated as a warning, and certain lifestyle changes should be made to prevent a more serious stroke in the future.
