Biographical history
Malcolm Sathianathan Adiseshiah was born in Vellore, India, on 18 April 1910.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Loyola College in Madras in 1930, and then studied at King’s College, Cambridge University, and the London School of Economics, earning his PhD in 1940.
Adiseshiah began his career as a Lecturer in Economics at St.
Paul’s College in Calcutta from 1931 to 1936.
