    The Misanthrope, or the Cantankerous Lover (French: Le Misanthrope ou l'Atrabilaire amoureux; French pronunciation:[ləmizɑ̃tʁɔpulatʁabilɛːʁamuʁø]) is a 17th-century comedy of manners in verse written by Molière.
